Qited Trust
Accessibility
Qited is built so everyone can ask a question and check the answer, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification, or reduced motion.
1Our target
The public chat, the admin console and this website are built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.
2How we check
- Every screen is checked with axe, at desktop and phone sizes. The latest check found no errors.
- Controls are standard buttons and links that work from the keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- Answers, quotes and citations are real text, so they can be read aloud, enlarged and translated.
- Animations follow your device's reduced-motion setting, and a Pause control stops them.
- Text and controls meet the AA contrast ratios.
3Known limitations
- When an answer opens the cited page, the page is shown as an image of the original PDF. The quoted words are always in the answer as text as well.
- Qited can't make an inaccessible source PDF accessible, but its answers give the words of that PDF in an accessible form.
- Scanned pages without a text layer can't be searched until they've been through OCR.
4Feedback
If anything in Qited or on this website doesn't work for you, please tell us and we'll fix it. In the chat, the thumbs-down button sends the problem straight to the team that runs it.
